## Common questions

### Which camera connection details does Viseron expect in the FFmpeg config?

Set the host IP, port (usually 554 for RTSP), path, and login for each camera. If those details are wrong, Viseron cannot get video and won't detect anything.

### Which settings must be correct to receive phone alerts with Gotify?

Enter the Gotify server address and application token, and choose labels such as person or car. Without the correct address and token, Viseron cannot send alerts to your phone.

### What makes Viseron start a recording?

It uses machine learning object detection to detect objects and start recordings.

### How does Viseron integrate with Home Assistant?

It includes a Home Assistant MQTT discovery integration.
