## Common questions

### Do Sonos S2 devices need bonob to be exposed to the internet?

Yes. Since the May 2024 Sonos S2 app update, S2 devices require bonob to be exposed to the internet so Sonos can call it. S1 devices can still work on the local network.

### What local URL must Sonos S1 devices be able to reach?

Bonob uses BNB_URL as the URL that Sonos S1 devices use to reach it, including the path. It must be reachable on your local network, and the default port is 4534.

### Which environment variable points bonob at Navidrome?

Bonob uses the BONOB_NAVIDROME_URL environment variable to reach Navidrome. The address and port in that variable must be correct for the connection to work.

### Can bonob generate large amounts of log output?

Yes. A user reported many WGET requests logged about every 30 seconds, which filled up NAS logs. Moving to a Pi made it easier to control the log file size.
