## Common questions

### What should I do if my Sia host’s IP address changes?

Reannounce the host whenever the IP changes; in some cases this can be needed every three days. Using a DDNS address makes locating the host in Siastats and Siacentral easier.

### Can I move a Sia host’s stored data to a different folder?

Add the new storage folder in the Host tab and wait until it appears in Total Storage. Then remove the old folder, and Sia should move stored data from the old folder to the new one.

### What credentials should I save when configuring hostd?

The hostd configuration wizard creates a wallet seed and an admin password. Save both, because losing them or deleting the config folder can prevent wallet recovery or web-interface access.

### Is there a tool for checking common initial Sia host problems?

The SiaCentral troubleshooter checks a host’s initial setup and common issues from one location. It shows possible causes and resolutions when it detects an issue.
