## Description

Photonix is a photo management application that streamlines the process of storing, presenting and re-discovering photos. Once set up it will ingest all the photos in your collection and start building up an image database of everything you could want to search and filter by. It makes your entire collection available to you, whichever device you’re using — as long as you can get to a web browser.

## Common questions

### What port does Photonix use by default?

Photonix listens on port 8888 by default after Docker Compose starts.

### How do I create the first account and library?

The initial superuser and library need to be created from the command line using the manage.py createsuperuser and create_library commands with docker-compose run.

### Where should I put photos so Photonix imports them?

Move the photos into the data/photos volume directory, where they should be detected and imported immediately.

### What should I do if Docker commands fail with a permission error?

Add your user to the docker group with usermod, log out and back in, and restart the machine if the permission problem still remains.

### Does the web app require JavaScript?

Yes, the Photonix app will not run unless JavaScript is enabled in your browser.
