## Common questions

### Why won't my Zigbee2MQTT lights connect to HyperHDR?

Set the real MQTT password in the Zigbee2MQTT configuration instead of CHANGE_THIS_PASSWORD, because it is the login for the MQTT message hub. Set port to the USB device name for the light controller, for example /dev/ttyACM0. Open the Zigbee2MQTT web setup port 8080 on the network if the page is not reachable.

### Can HyperHDR use video from an HDMI splitter?

HyperHDR can take video via software capture or a split-out video signal. It then calculates light values along the screen edges, including black bars.

### Can I drive WS2812B or SK6812 LEDs directly from Raspberry Pi GPIO pins?

No, direct driving of WS2812B or SK6812 LEDs from Raspberry Pi is not officially supported. It can cause many potential and hard-to-diagnose problems, and it does not work at all on RPi5 due to breaking hardware changes.

### What system diagnostics does HyperHDR provide?

HyperHDR can show live CPU and RAM usage, CPU temperature, undervoltage detection, USB grabber status, and LED performance.
