PIA qBittorrent is a Docker image that runs qBittorrent behind Private Internet Access (PIA) VPN on Alpine Linux. It hides the host's public IP, blocks outbound traffic if the VPN drops, detects stalled PIA connections, switches to another PIA server when needed, and manages PIA port forwarding where the selected region supports it. It is aimed at self-hosters who want a persistent, low-maintenance torrent client with an always-on VPN.

### What happens if the PIA VPN connection drops?

The container is designed to lose internet access instead of falling back to the host IP. It can also detect stalled PIA connections and repair them automatically.

### Can the image use WireGuard or OpenVPN for PIA?

Yes, the container supports both WireGuard and OpenVPN connections to PIA.

### Should UPnP be enabled when using a PIA forwarded port?

One user disables UPnP for security and only changes the forwarded port. They also suggest binding qBittorrent to the renamed PIA adapter.

### Why can qBittorrent fail to resolve hostnames through PIA's SOCKS5 proxy?

PIA's SOCKS proxy can break DNS lookups. If resolving names outside the proxy is acceptable, uncheck proxy usage for hostname lookups in qBittorrent's proxy settings.
