## Common questions

### How do I set up CineDock for shared TV use?

Run the CineDock container on your server or NAS and open it in browsers. Then connect Amazon Fire TV or NVIDIA Shield TV to it.

### Does CineDock store my media, users, and watched history?

No. Your Plex, Emby, or Jellyfin server keeps handling files, users, permissions, streaming, watched history, and resume points.

### Does CineDock create its own user profiles?

CineDock uses the profiles from your media server. The Watchlist, watched status, Continue Watching row, and resume points stay with the profile you choose.

### Does the CineDock desktop app update itself?

The Windows x64 and Mac desktop beta does not self-update. Check back to the download page for updates.

### What playback controls does CineDock provide?

You can choose subtitles and audio tracks, jump between chapters, and view trailers and extras provided by your server.
