## Common questions

### How do I install the self-hosted Scanopy server with Docker?

On a computer where Docker is installed, download the docker-compose.yml file and run docker compose up -d from that folder. This starts Scanopy and its supporting services in the background.

### How do I add a Linux host to Scanopy?

On the Linux machine you want Scanopy to manage, run the Scanopy daemon install command. It downloads, installs, and starts the daemon that sends information to the Scanopy server.

### Does the Scanopy middlebox need special Docker permissions?

Yes, if you use the middlebox, install socat and iptables, run setup.sh, and run the container in privileged Docker mode. Privileged mode lets it load the Linux traffic-redirection rules it needs, so it will not work without it.

### Does Scanopy currently support IPv6?

No, IPv6 is not currently supported.

### How can I map multiple VLANs or sites?

Deploy daemons across segments to map multi-site and multi-VLAN topologies.
