## Common questions

### How do I update a Docker Compose installation of TitleCardMaker?

Go to the original install directory and run the Docker Compose command that pulls the latest image and restarts the container. The documentation shows using docker compose up --pull always -d.

### Why might newly generated title cards not appear in Plex, Emby, or Jellyfin?

A common cause is that the series does not have a library assigned. If you added the series manually, assign the correct library manually.

### Where does TitleCardMaker store episode data files, and can they be edited?

It stores YAML datafiles in the top-level source directory. They are created and updated automatically, but are human-readable and can be edited manually.

### What should I do if I am migrating an existing version 1 installation to version 2?

Use the migration guide for the steps to take. The getting started page specifically points users migrating from version 1 to version 2 to that guide.

### What should be configured in the basic Docker Compose example?

Map the host port 4242 to container port 4242. Set the TZ environment variable to your timezone identifier, such as America/Los_Angeles.
