## Common questions

### What Docker setup mistakes commonly cause permission or data-loss issues in Plex?

Set PUID and PGID to the host user that owns the media and config folders, and map persistent host folders to /config and /transcode. If these are not done, Plex can create unreadable files, lose its settings, or fill the container disk.

### Which port must be reachable for Plex apps and the web interface?

Plex uses port 32400 for the main web interface and client communication. Your firewall or router must allow devices to reach it, or the Plex apps cannot connect.

### What should I consider in a Plex plus torrenting setup?

The Reddit thread covers workflows involving VPNs, moving files, and renaming.

### How do I get Plex to find newly added movies and shows?

Place the media in the corresponding library directory and click 'update libraries' in Plex.
