## Common questions

### Why won't Bambu Studio in this container discover my printer automatically?

mDNS/SSDP broadcast does not cross Docker's bridge network. For a LAN-only printer, add it manually by IP using Device > Bind with Access Code, or run the container with host networking on the printer's subnet.

### What should I back up before updating across a major Bambu Studio version?

Back up /config before updating across a major Bambu Studio version, because Studio migrates its configuration forward on first start and that migration is one-way. Filament presets, flow ratios, calibration data, and settings live there.

### Is the shared memory setting required?

Yes, the browser desktop needs shared memory, so use --shm-size=1gb or shm_size: "1gb".

### Can the web UI be accessed over plain HTTP?

No, the Web UI is served over HTTPS only on port 3001 with a self-signed certificate.

### Why might SpoolEase fail to connect while using Bambu Studio?

If multiple integrations and several Bambu Studio instances are running, SpoolEase may fail to connect. Try shutting down other integrations and closing extra Bambu Studio instances.
