## Common questions

### Can I install Netdata without claiming it to Netdata Cloud?

Yes. If you run the installer without claim details, Netdata still works on your machine, but it will not appear in the Cloud dashboard.

### Why are some sensors missing when I run Netdata in Docker?

Set NETDATA_EXTRA_DEB_PACKAGES to install extra system packages when the container starts. Without that setting, the container starts with only default packages, so tools like lm-sensors may not be available.

### Netdata is installed on pfSense but is not collecting data. What should I do?

Run service netdata onestart to begin it. Without that command, Netdata will not collect data or show a dashboard, even though installation finished.

### Which Netdata deployment mode is recommended for production?

Netdata lists Parent-Child Streaming as the recommended production deployment. Standalone is intended for a single Netdata Agent monitoring one system.
