## Common questions

### What do I need to set up before using Komga's protected API?

Create a username and password before first use. Komga's protected API examples use basic authentication, and if you skip this you may not be able to sign in or make protected API calls.

### How can I fix Komga if a default user was generated on first start?

If you started Komga without claiming the profile, it can generate a default user. Delete the database file at ~/.komga/database.sqlite to solve the issue.

### Can Komga be used with mobile readers?

Yes, Komga supports OPDS, an API, and a Tachiyomi extension. One user reported it working well for streaming manga to an Android e-reader.

### Does Komga import metadata from file names correctly?

A user found that Komga's importer did not incorporate metadata from file names correctly. They considered writing a Python script to edit Komga's SQLite database to fix it.
