## Common questions

### What common Linux setup mistake can stop the PhotoPrism binary from starting?

Using an amd64 archive on an Arm machine can stop the binary from starting. Download the tar.gz archive that matches your server's processor architecture and extract it to /opt/photoprism.

### Where should the PhotoPrism Podman configuration folder be kept?

Keep the default configuration folder at /opt/photoprism. Losing that folder can reset saved settings.

### Does PhotoPrism support face detection?

Yes. A major update included face detection.

### Do voluntary donations cover PhotoPrism's full-time team costs?

No. The FAQ says voluntary donations do not cover the cost of a team working full time to provide updates, documentation, and support.
