### What must be installed for phpIPAM-cron to check IP addresses?

Install PHP, Apache, and MariaDB first, including fping, the tool that checks whether IP addresses respond. Without these, phpIPAM-cron cannot run, store data, or check IP addresses.

### What file permissions prevent phpIPAM-cron failures?

Set install folder permissions to 644 for files and 755 for folders. Make the web server user own the folder, because wrong ownership or permissions can cause blank pages or cron job failures.

### How do I stop infinite login loops when running behind a reverse proxy?

Set config.php trust_x_forwarded_headers to true, or use the Docker environment variable IPAM_TRUST_X_FORWARDED=true, so phpIPAM accepts HTTP X_FORWARDED_ headers. The reverse proxy should filter or overwrite X_FORWARDED_FOR, X_FORWARDED_HOST, X_FORWARDED_PORT, X_FORWARDED_PROTO, X_FORWARDED_SSL, and X_FORWARDED_URI.

### How do I recover access if the admin password is forgotten?

Run php functions/scripts/reset-admin-password.php in the CLI. Then enter the new password.
