## Common questions

### What must I configure before starting PeerTube in production?

Copy production.yaml.example to config/production.yaml and edit it for your server. If the site address and video/data storage location are not set, PeerTube will not know where to store your content.

### Why might PeerTube fail to start or stop working after a reboot?

Nginx, PostgreSQL, Redis, and FFmpeg must be installed with supported versions and running. Start PostgreSQL, Redis, and Nginx and enable them to start automatically on boot.

### Does PeerTube reduce the bandwidth required on the hosting server?

Yes, P2P technologies can reduce inbound bandwidth because users watching a video can share the load, unless they disable the feature.
