## Common questions

### How can I integrate Frigate with Home Assistant and other systems?

Use the Frigate custom component for Home Assistant. Frigate communicates over MQTT, so it can also be integrated with other MQTT-capable systems.

### What should I check if a custom object detector does not work?

Make sure the model file is at the path specified, often /config, and that the width and height match the exact size used when the model was exported. Mismatches can cause detection to fail or produce broken results.

### Are the Frigate name and logo covered by the MIT license?

No. The code, configuration files, and documentation are MIT licensed, but the Frigate name, brand, and logo are trademarks of Frigate, Inc. and are not covered by the MIT license.

### Does Frigate support 24/7 recording?

Yes, Frigate supports 24/7 recording. It records video using retention settings based on detected objects.
