## Common questions

### Why might the Flowise browser UI not open after installation?

Run npx flowise start to launch Flowise. Without that command, the app never starts and the browser UI cannot be opened.

### How can I add basic login protection when starting Flowise?

Start Flowise with the FLOWISE_USERNAME and FLOWISE_PASSWORD flags in the npx flowise start command. Without those flags, it may start without simple login protection.

### How do I make Docker start automatically for a containerized Flowise install?

Enable Docker with sudo systemctl enable docker.service and start it with sudo systemctl start docker.service. This makes Docker run now and start after reboot so the Flowise container can launch.

### What should I verify before exposing self-hosted Flowise publicly?

Use correct ports, persistent storage, HTTPS, secrets, backups, and upgrade checks. Also be prepared to fix the instance when the encryption secret changes.

### Can Flowise be deployed in an air-gapped environment?

Flowise lists self-hosted options that include air-gapped deploy.
