## Common questions

### How does Nextcloud-cronjob run Nextcloud's cron job?

It executes php -f /var/www/html/cron.php inside the Nextcloud container using docker exec. The default interval in the provided example is every 15 minutes.

### How do you tell the cron container which Nextcloud container to use?

Set NEXTCLOUD_CONTAINER_NAME to the Nextcloud service name and NEXTCLOUD_PROJECT_NAME to the Docker Compose project prefix. If you are not using Docker Compose, leave NEXTCLOUD_PROJECT_NAME blank or omit it.

### Does the cron container need its own network, database, or ports?

No. The example runs with network_mode: none and relies on the mounted Docker socket to execute commands in the Nextcloud container.

### Why might the official Nextcloud container cron approach fail?

The README says the official method does not work when the Nextcloud container is run using a non-root user.
