## Common questions

### What Linux setting must be increased before starting TubeArchivist's Elasticsearch?

Set vm.max_map_count to at least 262144. If it is left low, Elasticsearch may fail to start and the search features will not work.

### What user and group ownership should an Elasticsearch data folder have on the host?

Set the folder ownership to 1000:0, matching the user and group IDs used inside the Elasticsearch container. Wrong ownership can prevent Elasticsearch from reading or saving data.

### What should be changed in docker-compose if host port 8000 is already in use?

Change the host port in the port mapping, for example to 9000:8000. This lets the web interface start and be reachable in a browser.

### Does TubeArchivist include a browser extension?

Yes, it has a companion browser extension for single-click archival. It is available for Firefox and Chrome-based browsers.

### Can TubeArchivist be integrated with other media servers?

TubeArchivist has its own media server, but third-party Jellyfin and Plex integrations are available.

### Does TubeArchivist support archiving comments?

Version 0.3.0 added archiving and browsing of comments.
