## Common questions

### Which local directory should I bind for server data, saves, and backups?

Bind a local directory to the container's /config volume. It holds /backups, /gamefiles, /logs, and /saved, and the server automatically creates a backup when the container first starts.

### Which ports need to be published for the Docker container?

Publish port 7777 for both TCP and UDP, and port 8888 for TCP.

### How can I avoid permission denied errors when running the container?

Set the PUID and PGID environment variables to the ID you find by running the id command.

### How much memory should I allocate to the Satisfactory server container?

It may run on less than 8GB, though 8GB to 16GB is recommended. Increase the container's --memory restriction if you are in the late game or playing with four or more players.

### Why can my friends connect remotely, but I cannot connect to the server I am hosting?

If you are hosting the server locally, you need to connect using your server's local IP.
