## Description

The self-hosted game library for a household. Scan folders of DRM-free games and ROMs, identify them against IGDB / Steam / GOG, invite the family, download, play in the browser where a system supports it, and chat. Everything runs in this one container, PostgreSQL included: no second database container to set up. Point "Games" at your games share (read-only), keep "Appdata" on the cache, and open the WebUI. The first visit runs the setup wizard. Use Oneirodex only with software you are authorised to share. It ships no BIOS or firmware and no pirate tooling.

## Common questions

### Do I need Authentik or OIDC for household user accounts?

No, Authentik and OIDC are optional. Local username and password is the default for a home install.

### Why can’t a child account see some games or use companion download commands?

Parental ACLs and library allowlists intentionally filter the library. Child accounts also cannot search Acquire or use companion download/install commands.

### Where is account data stored?

Account data is stored on the machine that runs Oneirodex.
