## Common questions

### Why is pull mode useful for an ESP32 e-ink frame connected to a self-hosted server?

The frame can wake only every few minutes and pull the current image from the server, which limits electric usage.

### What brightness tradeoff can affect color e-ink frames?

Color e-ink is much darker than black-and-white e-ink, so the front light may be needed often.

### What community sentiment toward Wink appears in selfhosted discussions?

A selfhosted thread calls Wink a terrible company.
