## Description

Vora is a self-hosted media server for movies, TV, music, and IPTV with DVR, with cinematic clients for Android, Android TV, Fire TV, Roku, and the web. REQUIREMENTS: Vora needs a PostgreSQL database with the pgvector extension. Install the "pgvector" app from Community Applications FIRST (name its container "vora-postgres"), and put BOTH containers on the same user-defined Docker network (create one under Settings > Docker > Add network, e.g. "vora") so Vora can reach Postgres by container name. After both are running, browse to http:// :8080 and claim the server: the account you create there is the server admin. GPU (optional): for NVIDIA hardware transcoding, install the Nvidia-Driver plugin and set Extra Parameters to --runtime=nvidia.

## Platform availability

Available on 1 of 6 install platforms: Unraid.

## Common questions

### How should the Vora container connect to PostgreSQL in Docker?

Use a separate PostgreSQL container with the pgvector extension. The compose example names it vora-postgres and connects Vora to Host=postgres on port 5432.

### Which port should be published for the Vora web UI?

Publish container port 8080 to your host. Vora serves the API and web client on that port.

### What happens if the JWT secret is changed after setup?

Changing Jwt__SecretKey invalidates every existing session. Use a long random string and store it safely.

### Which Docker volumes are important to back up?

Back up the /app/data volume and the PostgreSQL data volume. Media directories are mounted read-only and remain separate from Vora's data volumes.
