### Why does the Windows desktop app flash and close before opening on some machines?

CADCraft initializes DirectX 12 by default on Windows, and some drivers can crash when wgpu also tries to create an OpenGL instance before the window appears. Setting the WGPU_BACKEND environment variable to another backend, such as vulkan, can be used for troubleshooting.
