## Common questions

### Why does OpenLogi not detect my Logitech device on Linux?

Copy the bundled 70-openlogi.rules file to /etc/udev/rules.d, then reload and trigger the udev rules. Skipping this can cause permission errors or the device not being detected.

### Do I need Logi Options+ or a Logitech account to use OpenLogi?

No. OpenLogi talks to Logitech HID++ peripherals directly over receiver, Bluetooth, or USB, and does not require the official Options+ install or an account.

### Where are OpenLogi settings stored for backup or syncing?

Bindings and device settings are written to config.toml at ~/.config/openlogi/config.toml. That file is the settings file to back up or sync.

### Does OpenLogi keep a webcam held open after I close the preview?

No. The live preview opens the camera only while you are watching, and leaving the preview releases the camera entirely with the LED off.
