## Common questions

### How should I update a Docker install from Plembfin to Plekt?

Change the existing Plembfin Docker image name to the corresponding Plekt image name and keep the same tag, volume, data folder, container settings, and secrets. Do not replace an existing named volume with a fresh-install volume. Existing sign-in cookies, preferences, device IDs, backup folders, and API routes keep their legacy identifiers.

### Can old Plembfin backups be used after upgrading to Plekt?

Old Plembfin backups can still be restored, listed, and pruned. New Plekt backups use Plekt names and cannot be restored by older Plembfin builds.

### How does Plekt get play, pause, and stop events from media servers?

Plays, pauses, and stops arrive by webhook and polling from your media servers. Each watch is recorded once locally with its date, source, and progress.
