## Description

Self-hosted control and automation for a Sonos system, entirely over your local network: no cloud and no Sonos account. A web UI for everyday playback and grouping, plus presets that group speakers, set their volumes and play a shuffled mix of playlists, albums and favourites. Fire presets from the UI, a webhook (Shortcuts, Stream Deck, Node-RED) or an optional HomeKit switch. Host networking is required: Sonos discovery is multicast and the speakers call back into Slipmat for live updates, neither of which crosses a bridge network.

## Common questions

### Do I need host networking to run Slipmat?

Yes. Sonos discovery is multicast and the speakers call back into Slipmat for live updates, and neither of those works across a bridge network.

### Which port does the UI use and where should I store its data?

Use port 5544 for the UI and map a persistent directory to /data.

### Where do I put Slipmat settings when using Docker Compose?

Put them in a .env file beside the compose file. Every setting is optional.

### Can I start presets without opening the web UI?

Yes. Presets can be started from a webhook using GET or POST, on a schedule, or with a HomeKit switch.

### Can I use Slipmat on a phone?

Yes, the web UI works as well on a phone as on a desktop.
