## Common questions

### Why do uploads fail with 'Origin not allowed'?

SkySend automatically allows the origin that matches BASE_URL. An upload or WebSocket connection from a mismatched front-end origin can therefore fail with that message.

### Does the SkySend server see shared data?

SkySend is described as zero-knowledge, so the server never sees your data.

### Can I run my own SkySend instance and have it listed publicly?

You can host your own instance, or use a public instance, and if you run one yourself you can add it to the list.

### Is there a Home Assistant add-on for SkySend?

A Home Assistant SkySend add-on lets you self-host the service directly alongside Home Assistant.
