## Common questions

### Should I give Port-Light access to the Docker socket?

The Docker socket grants Docker API access, including write operations. Use a socket proxy if you need to restrict access.

### How do I scan Compose files for declared ports?

Mount the directory containing your Compose stacks at /compose read-only and set COMPOSE_SCAN_DIR to /compose.

### Where should I store Port-Light's local data?

Mount a local directory to /data; the Compose example uses ./data:/data.

### Why might Port-Light not show a process name for a host listener?

Process names are taken from /host/proc when that mount is present.
