## Common questions

### How do I back up and restore Invoicery data?

Invoicery can pack the SQLite database at data/billing.db and uploaded files in attachments/ into one zip file. The whole backup can then be restored with one click.

### Does Invoicery automatically calculate Indian GST components?

Yes. It compares the merchant state code with the customer place-of-supply state code and applies CGST and SGST for intrastate supply or IGST for interstate supply.

### Does inventory stock change automatically when invoices or purchases are recorded?

Yes. Stock is automatically deducted when sales invoices are recorded and automatically incremented when purchases are recorded.

### Can external scanners or scripts create entries in Invoicery?

Yes. An API token system lets scanning devices, command-line utilities, or inventory scripts connect to the billing book.
