## Description

Macinabox is a Docker container for Unraid that automates installing and repairing macOS virtual machines. It creates the VM XML, applies server details such as the available q35 machine type, and fixes settings when the VM is rerun or edited. It is for homelab users with an Unraid server who want a repeatable macOS VM without manually managing helper scripts or XML files.

## Common questions

### What does Macinabox automate, and what inputs do I still provide?

It downloads and installs the selected macOS version, creates the VM XML file, and selects the latest q35 configuration available on the server. You choose the macOS version, specify the VM storage location, and specify the ISO location.

### What happens if the macOS VM I select already exists?

Macinabox checks the existing VM XML and fixes it if necessary instead of reinstalling the VM.

### How do I handle Apple EULA compliance in Macinabox?

Set the EULA variable to "Yes" only if you are running on Apple hardware, which is the only EULA-compliant way according to the container. Otherwise leave the variable as it is.

### What version-selection problem have users reported?

One user reported that the container downloaded Catalina even though Big Sur was selected. After installing the media it exited to a VM shell, and typing exit led to a BIOS-like screen.
