## Common questions

### Do my STL, 3MF, and STEP files have to be uploaded into Printventory?

No. It indexes the files already in your chosen folders without moving or uploading them.

### Which port and volume does the Docker quick start use?

The example publishes host port 5000 to container port 5000. It mounts a printventory-data volume to /root/.config/Printventory.

### Can Printventory use an existing Spoolman filament catalog?

Yes. If you already run Spoolman, Printventory can pull your filament catalog from it.

### Does it detect duplicate 3D model files?

Yes. It uses duplicate detection based on the file's content hash.

### Does it record print history and filament use?

Yes. It tracks each print's lifecycle and stores the date, quantity, notes, and filament used.
