dmOffice is a self-hosted office suite in the browser that looks and works like Outlook: mail (IMAP/SMTP, many accounts, local copy with attachments, full-text search, rules, learning junk filter), calendar, contacts, tasks, notes (notizi sync) and files. It ships its own CalDAV, CardDAV and WebDAV server with app passwords, so phones, Thunderbird and the Windows Explorer connect directly - no Nextcloud needed. Multiple users, every user database encrypted with SQLCipher, two-factor sign-in (TOTP), light and dark theme.

### How should I back up dmOffice and protect the master key?

Back up the /data directory, which includes users.json, per-user SQLCipher databases, and key material. Preserve DMOFFICE_MASTER_KEY or /data/master.key as well, because the per-user database keys are wrapped by the master key and databases cannot be opened without it.

### Do phones need a separate cloud server for CalDAV, CardDAV, or WebDAV?

No, dmOffice includes its own CalDAV, CardDAV, and WebDAV server with app passwords. Phones, Thunderbird, and Windows Explorer can connect directly without an additional cloud server.

### How are email accounts and attachments stored?

dmOffice can keep local copies of many IMAP/SMTP accounts, either all mail or a configured number of months, including attachments. The data is stored in the user's SQLCipher database and supports full-text search over folders and accounts.

### How do notizi notes sync with dmOffice?

Notes are synced from notizi through its end-to-end encrypted sync folder. dmOffice acts as another notizi device over its own WebDAV.
