# WAZ Cooling Control

WAZ Cooling Control is a self-hosted infrastructure app. WAZ Cooling Control combines local Dell PowerVault MD1200/MD1220 shelf fan control with newly added, self-contained IPMI chassis fan control for Dell PowerEdge R730/R730xd. It is open source and self-hosted, installable on Unraid.

## Description

WAZ Cooling Control combines local Dell PowerVault MD1200/MD1220 shelf fan control with newly added, self-contained IPMI chassis fan control for Dell PowerEdge R730/R730xd. IPMI fan response, return to iDRAC automatic control, and idle temperature-curve control are confirmed on a Dell PowerEdge R730xd running Unraid 7.3.3. Each device independently follows a Global or Individual curve using its own temperature. Includes guarded shelf discovery, disk mapping, independent SES telemetry, supervised recovery, a bundled IPMI tool, and automatic hiding of unavailable hardware. MD1200 is hardware-tested; MD1220 remains experimental. No automatic uploads or cloud services. AI-assisted development by OpenAI Codex under project-owner direction, hardware validation, and release approval.
