## Common questions

### Does SpeedKetchup need a separate web server or static hosting to show its dashboard?

No, it includes a builtin web server to display results with charts. All web assets are included in the program binary.

### How does SpeedKetchup choose which speedtest server to use?

It automatically selects a speedtest server based on latency, or you can run against a specific server. It uses HTTP for all network operations and skips speedtest servers that only serve over HTTPS.

### Where are SpeedKetchup test results stored?

Results are stored in human-readable CSV files. They can optionally be written to InfluxDB or anything else that accepts its line protocol.

### Does SpeedKetchup expose metrics for external monitoring?

Yes, it exposes Prometheus metrics of the last test at /metrics. The metrics include download and upload speed, idle and loaded latency, server and ISP, and test and failure counts.

### Can SpeedKetchup be used for a single test instead of continuous monitoring?

Yes, it can be used for a one-off test. It can also be kept running continuously to spot changes in your internet connection.
