## Common questions

### Can WAZ Cooling Control return an R730xd chassis back to iDRAC automatic fan control?

Yes. Explicit return to iDRAC automatic control was confirmed on an R730xd running Unraid 7.3.3.

### Is the Dell PowerVault MD1220 ready for everyday use?

No. It is included for testing, and real serial and RPM hardware validation is still requested.

### Can each managed device use a separate fan curve?

Yes. The release provides independent Global or Individual curve choices per device.

### What happens when managed hardware disappears?

It automatically hides unavailable hardware.

### Can other fan-control scripts or plugins run while WAZ Cooling Control controls a shelf?

No. Docker containers, scripts, and other plugins that write to the same serial console must be stopped.

### Do existing shelf settings survive an update from md12xx.fancontrol?

Yes. It preserves the md12xx.fancontrol update identity and existing shelf settings.
