## Common questions

### What do I need to do after installing Tile38 before client connections work?

Start the server with tile38-server. If the server is not started, every command and client connection will fail.

### What local address and port should my application use to connect to Tile38?

Point your client to 127.0.0.1:9851. If you use the wrong address or port, the client will not be able to reach the server.

### How can I expose Tile38 metrics for Prometheus?

Set the --metrics-addr command line flag, which is disabled by default. For example, start the server with a local metrics address and scrape the /metrics endpoint. Set the flag to 0.0.0.0 plus a port if another host must access the endpoint.

### Can Tile38 send geofence events to external systems?

Yes, Tile38 can deliver geospatial event notifications by pairing with external webhooks and event queues.
