### Do I need to create docker-compose.override.yml for a Docker deployment?

Yes, copy the example override file and edit it before starting NetBox. It is where your custom settings live.

### Why is NetBox unreachable from another device, domain, or IP?

Add that access address to the ALLOWED_HOSTS setting. Without the right entry, the site may refuse the connection even though the container is running.

### Which port should I open to reach the NetBox web UI?

Use NetBox's web port 8000. If that port is blocked or the wrong address is used, you will not reach the login or first-run page.

### Does NetBox directly configure or collect data from network devices?

No, NetBox does not interact with network nodes directly. It stores and validates intended state and exposes it programmatically to automation, monitoring, and assurance tools.
