KitchenOwl Web is the web frontend for the self-hosted KitchenOwl grocery list and recipe manager. It lets you sync shopping lists across multiple users in real time, create and share recipes, build meal plans, and track household expenses. Requires the KitchenOwl backend container to run. ### What environment variable must I set before using KitchenOwl safely?

Replace JWT_SECRET_KEY with your own long random string before running the app. If it is left as PLEASE_CHANGE_ME, logins are not safe.

### How do I choose the browser port for the KitchenOwl web UI?

Use port 80, or change the first number in ports to another free port on your network. If the port is blocked or already used, the browser cannot open KitchenOwl.

### Which volume should I back up for KitchenOwl data?

Keep the kitchenowl_data volume safe because it stores the app's saved data. Deleting it can make recipes and settings disappear.
