## Common questions

### Can LMS use more than one authentication method for users?

Yes. It includes user management with several authentication backends.

### Can external music clients connect to LMS?

Yes. LMS supports the Subsonic/OpenSubsonic API and includes jukebox support.

### How fast is the default audio-similarity recommendation engine for large libraries?

It uses MusicNN embeddings, and reported throughput ranges from about 1,000 tracks/hour on a Raspberry Pi 4 to about 25,000 tracks/hour on an Intel Core i5-13500. Performance depends on scanner threads and storage speed.

### Where should I put artist metadata and images?

LMS supports an Artist information folder anywhere within the scanned libraries. It is best placed in a dedicated ArtistInfo directory in the root of a media library.

### Which external services can LMS use for listen tracking and feedback?

It supports ListenBrainz for scrobbling, synchronizing listens, and synchronizing love feedback. It also supports Last.fm for scrobbling listens.
