## Common questions

### How does PHP Server Monitor decide that a website or service is down?

Service checks connect to the entered IP or domain on the given port. Website checks use cURL, treat 4xx/5xx HTTP status codes as errors, and can also mark the site down if a configured regular expression does not match page content.

### Can checks run automatically?

Yes, the script supports an easy cronjob implementation to automatically check your servers.

### What notification options are available?

Servers can notify by email, SMS, Discord, Pushover, Telegram, or Jabber. SMS gateways require an account with sufficient credits.

### What can administrators manage?

Administrators can manage servers, manage users, and edit global configuration.

### Does it keep history and logs?

It can display history graphs of uptime and latency. It also logs connection errors, outgoing emails, and text messages.
