How is this calculated?

A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes

  • Start the TRex server with a config file After installation, move into your TRex folder and start the server with sudo (admin) by pointing it to /etc/trex_cfg.yaml. Without this config file, the server can't know how to set up your network interfaces. source
  • Open the console in a second terminal Once the server is running, open another terminal, move into the same TRex folder, and run ./trex-console. The console is the control screen, and it won't control anything unless the server is already running. source
  • Use ASTF commands for stateful tests If your traffic tests need stateful behavior, start the server with --astf and then start the console with --astf. Normal stateless mode won't handle those advanced packet interactions, so your tests may not work as expected. source
  • NVIDIA Driver Install and enable the nvidia-driver plugin (version 6.9 or newer) in Unraid before using the container. source

Common questions

Does T-Rex add a developer fee to mining sessions?

Yes. The developer fee is 1%, and 2% for Octopus, Autolykos2, and their dual mining modes.

How do I choose which CUDA GPUs T-Rex uses?

Use -d or --devices with a comma-separated list of CUDA device IDs, starting from 0. If using Afterburner indexing, --ab-indexing makes IDs start from 1.

How can I avoid rebuilding the DAG when switching back from a dev fee session?

Set the coin name with --coin, for example etc for Ethereum Classic or etc+zil for Ethereum Classic plus Zilliqa mining.

Can low load mode be enabled for only some GPUs?

Yes. --low-load can be a comma-separated string that enables the mode only for selected GPUs, such as 0,0,1,0.

How do I tune T-Rex for LHR cards?

Use --lhr-tune to set the percentage of full speed the miner tries to achieve on LHR cards. The value can be 10 to 95, -1 for auto, 0 to disable, and 74 is a recommended starting value for low power mode.
