WeatherFlow2MQTT is an archived Docker-based add-on that monitors the UDP socket (port 50222) of a WeatherFlow Hub and publishes the data to an MQTT server with MQTT Discovery support, so Home Assistant automatically creates a sensor for each entity. It supports the WeatherFlow AIR, SKY and TEMPEST devices. The project has been archived by the author; use the built-in Home Assistant WeatherFlow integration for UDP data, or the separate WeatherFlow Forecast integration for REST API forecast data.

Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

Common questions

Do I need an MQTT server to run WeatherFlow2MQTT?

Yes, the add-on requires Docker and an MQTT server somewhere in your network. On Home Assistant OS or Supervised installations, both are available easily.

Which UDP port does WeatherFlow2MQTT listen to?

It monitors the WeatherFlow Hub UDP socket on port 50222.

How are sensors created in Home Assistant?

The add-on publishes data in MQTT Discovery format, so Home Assistant creates a sensor for each WeatherFlow entity when MQTT Discovery is enabled.

Why was forecast support removed from this add-on?

Home Assistant has no Weather Entity for MQTT, so forecast data could not be supported after attributes were deprecated in Home Assistant 2024.3. The separate WeatherFlow Forecast integration should be used for REST API forecast data.

What should I review before updating WeatherFlow2MQTT?

Check the changelog for breaking changes before updating. The README says breaking changes will occur before the end of February 2024.
