OWI2Plex is a small Dockerized tool that fetches channel and EPG (electronic program guide) data from Enigma2 receivers running the Open WebIF plugin and exports it as XML to feed Plex Media Server. It runs on a cron schedule inside the container, keeps all settings in a persistent /config folder, and applies cron option changes on container restart. It is a good fit for homelab users who want their Enigma2 DVB (digital video broadcasting) hardware to serve as a TV guide source for Plex.

Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes

  • First run, config, and cron testing After the container first starts, open the mounted /config folder and complete setup there; configuration is persistent, and deleting it starts from scratch. Cron options are applied on container restart, and cronjob changes do not require a restart. To test the cronjob functions, run: docker exec -it <container-name> ./config/cronjob.sh source
