Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes
- Replace the demo settings first Before starting evcc, open evcc.yaml and replace the demo meter, charger, vehicle, and prices with your real hardware and electricity rates. Without this, evcc only shows fake values and won't control your charger correctly. source
- Tell evcc which meters are yours In the site section, point grid (utility connection), pv (solar panels), and battery to your actual meter names. Set residualPower to your normal home electricity use, because if it is wrong evcc can estimate the power available for EV charging incorrectly. source
- Start it with your config file Run `./evcc -v` first to check that evcc is installed, then start it with `./evcc -c evcc.yaml`. If evcc can't find the config file, it won't know your home, charger, or meters and the app won't work as expected. source
- Create evcc.yaml before first start Create an evcc.yaml configuration file in the container's appdata folder before starting evcc; if the file is missing, evcc starts a demo and may create a folder named evcc.yaml instead of mapping a file. source

Common questions
Why does evcc show demo values and not control my charger?
Replace the demo meter, charger, vehicle, and price settings in evcc.yaml with your real hardware and electricity rates before starting evcc. Otherwise it only shows fake values and will not control the charger correctly.
Does evcc need to connect to cloud services?
evcc is designed for local energy management without relying on cloud services.
Can evcc be integrated with Home Assistant?
Yes, there is an unofficial HACS integration that lets Home Assistant control a local evcc instance.
How can I back up evcc data?
evcc provides database backup options to download or restore a database backup.
Is there a mobile app for evcc?
evcc has an iOS and Android companion app to monitor and control charging.
