Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes
- Start Monica with Docker on port 8080 Run the official Monica Docker command with -p 8080:80, which tells Docker to make container port 80 available as your computer’s port 8080, then open http://localhost:8080. This is what lets your browser reach Monica; without it, the app will not open. source
- Set up email before inviting people Start Docker with an email-sending setting, like -e MAIL_MAILER=log for testing, or point Monica to a real mail server for real use. Without working email, invitation and verification messages won’t arrive, so people may not be able to join or get back in. source
- Create and verify your account During first setup, create your account with a name, email, and password, then click the verification link Monica emails you. Without that step, your account may not be ready to use and you may not be able to reset your password later. source
