Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes
- Install the parser first Run `pip install podcastparser` on a machine that has Python 3. If this library is missing, the parser cannot turn a podcast feed into show and episode data. source
- Provide a feed URL and readable feed Give the parser a real podcast feed URL and a readable stream or file containing that feed. Without both, it cannot find episode titles, audio links, or show details. source
- Limit episodes if the feed is large You can set `max_episodes` to a number, such as 100, so the parser returns only that many episodes. This helps large feeds parse faster and use less memory when you do not need the full history. source
- Docker container environment For the xthursdayx/gpodder-docker image, mount /config for persistent settings and /downloads for episodes, set PUID (user ID) and PGID (group ID) to your account, expose port 3000 for the WebUI, and optionally set PASSWORD to protect the WebUI. source
