First-install notes
- Point the app at your Huly API Set the HULY_URL environment variable (a setting the code reads) to your Huly API address, such as http://your-server:8087. If you leave the default http://localhost:8087, it will only look for an API on the same computer and will not reach a Huly server elsewhere. source
- Add your Huly login details Connect to Huly with either your email and password or an authentication token (a code that proves your account), and also set the workspace (the Huly space you want to open). Without valid sign-in details, the Huly client cannot access your data, so the frontend or API script will not show anything useful. source

Common questions
How do I configure the Huly frontend to reach a remote self-hosted API?
Set the HULY_URL environment variable to your Huly API address. The default localhost setting only looks for an API on the same computer and will not reach a Huly server elsewhere.
What credentials does a Huly frontend or example client need?
You need to connect with either an email and password or an authentication token, and also set the workspace. Without valid sign-in details, the client cannot access your data and the frontend or API script will not show anything useful.
Where should I look if Huly self-hosted fails to start or has connection issues?
Use the troubleshooting guide for service startup failures, connectivity problems, and configuration errors. It provides high-level diagnostic procedures and solutions for deploying and operating Huly self-hosted.
Where can I ask questions about self-hosting Huly?
The self-host docs point to a community for questions, tips, and help. The Huly team is also active there and tries to respond to as many questions as they can.
Can Huly synchronize with GitHub?
Yes, Huly has bidirectional GitHub synchronization. You can use it as a front-end for GitHub Issues and GitHub Projects, with changes syncing instantly.
