You need to read documentation at the provided repos in order to make things work. If you can't figure something out, you can join the discord server linked in the support section of the template and ask for help. One quick note: As of recent updates, you can access services using an internal webUI. This means you can avoid, in some cases,

Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes

  • Install Docker before running DUMB DUMB runs in Docker, so install Docker and Docker Compose first using the provided installer script. Without them, DUMB and its services cannot start. source
  • Mount your config folder safely Bind-mount a local config folder, such as ./config:/config, and make sure the folder exists on your computer before starting DUMB. That folder stores your settings; if it is missing or not mapped, DUMB may fail to start or lose settings. source
  • Don't skip first-run setup Complete the initial setup wizard and create an account instead of selecting Skip Setup. Skipping it disables authentication, which means anyone who can reach DUMB can access all endpoints. source

Common questions

Does DUMB require Docker when deploying on Proxmox?

Yes, the Proxmox deployment runs DUMB in Docker, so Docker and Docker Compose must be installed first. Without them, DUMB and its services cannot start.

What configuration folder should be mounted?

Bind-mount a local config folder, such as ./config:/config, and ensure the folder exists before starting DUMB. If the folder is missing or not mapped, DUMB may fail to start or lose settings.

Can I skip the first-run setup wizard?

No, you should complete the initial setup and create an account instead of selecting Skip Setup. Skipping disables authentication, which allows anyone who can reach DUMB to access all endpoints.

Are all included DUMB projects required?

No, you can use whichever components you like. Not all projects are required, and some may provide overlapping functionality in different ways.

How can I expose service interfaces or routes?

You can optionally expose selected UIs or public routes through the bundled Traefik access layer.
